EXPECT OVERNIGHT DELAYS ON ELTHAM BRIDGE TUESDAY, APRIL 7
Route 30/33 traffic to be stopped briefly for multiple bridge openings between 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Multiple bridge openings are planned on the Eltham Bridge during the overnight hours of Tuesday, April 7, weather permitting

All traffic on Route 30/Route 33 at the bridge over the Pamunkey River will be stopped multiple times between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 8. The Eltham Bridge connects the Town of West Point and New Kent County.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be testing the balance of the bridge spans during drawbridge openings as part of scheduled, routine maintenance.

Crews will monitor traffic delays at the bridge and will suspend testing to allow any significant congestion to clear.
